My Label is a pattern-MAKING software, that uses CAD technologies that have been in use over 20 years for clothing manufacturing. The patterns in the program use built in automatic features such as notch matching and seam allowances. Tools are used in the software which are a combination of pattern making, sizing and parametric modeling systems that replicate the manual drafting process-to enable all pattern pieces to accurately join together.

My Label provides functions and features for people who know pattern drafting and for the many consumers who want a good fit, want to be able to visualize their style before they sew and who do not have pattern drafting skills. It is helpful, of course to know those skills, but it is not necessary to be successful with the software. When entering your measurements to personalize your model, the measurements are used both to morph the model and to fit the patterns to your own size. When a style is selected, the measurements from your personalized model are automatically loaded to alter the pattern to your measurements. The opportunity also exists to alter these style measurements more to your "preferred" fit in terms of ease and style by changing the style properties. The advantage is being able to see in 3D the changes that have been made so that you can either accept them and sew the style or continue altering until you are happy with the results.
